And this is why we do food tours. Had plenty of food (pleasantly surprised with the sangria and margarita) mixed in with a little local history and a lovely stroll in downtown Palm Springs. Tod was the perfect host: gracious, knowledgeable, and interesting. We would highly recommend!
We had the privilege of enjoying a food tour with Dan at Desert Tasty Tours. Dan took us to many local places and we had delicious bites of food in each location. More than just a food tour, we learned about Palm Springs history, current affairs, and the players that made Palm Springs what it is today. This is an EXCELLENT way to spend a few hours!
I go on a lot of food tours (usually in Europe). This tour was very well organized and well-coordinated. Everyplace we went was expecting us, and we had a place to sit (even if the establishment was crowded). We sampled a very good cross section of foods. We certainly got plenty to eat (and drink)! Todd did a good job leading us. We were a large group in a very crowded town, and he corralled us very effectively and in an understated way. A class act.
An excellent time was had by all in our party. The food was top-notch and the portions generous—you will not go hungry! All the proprietors welcomed us in to their establishments—6 stops in total. Tod Macofsky was our guide (think Robert Downey Junior!) and he couldn’t have been more gracious and entertaining. Highly, highly recommend this tour!
Loved this tour!! Tod was such a great guide- lots of great information about Palm Springs as well as the restaurant scene. The food stops were great- food and drinks were outstanding. Highly recommend!
Loved every minute of the tour. I have lived in Palm Springs for 8 years, and I did not know much about my own home town! Kay was a wonderful guide. Light-hearted and knowledgeable. The restaurants were terrific. A great variety. Fun facts about each restaurant and their histories in the city, made me appreciate each restaurant and desert shop even more.

This is a fantastic way to spend part of the day! With a taste of the Palms Springs history to the taste of some wonderful food and treats. I loved it and have suggested to many from the area and visitors alike. Add it to your list, you won’t regret!
